Can’t Get Enough

The past few years I have been loving Kennedy Ryan‘s Skyland series. Now the trilogy ends with Can’t Get Enough, Hendrix’s story. Career-focused and confident, Hendrix isn’t willing to sacrifice her goals for a man. But when she meets Maverick, a tech mogul, she needs to consider whether being with him is worth risking a deal for her client. Can she have it all despite the odds?

What I Liked:

  • Hendrix and Maverick are equals. Yes, he’s a tech mogul who’s close to becoming a billionaire, but Hendrix holds her own as a successful agent for entertainers. Hendrix doesn’t need anyone, and she’s not going to give up her career for a man, but I love how she finds an equal in Mav. He respects her and doesn’t want to ever cage her in.
  • Not wanting to have children. Hendrix doesn’t have or ever want children, and I appreciate seeing this choice shown with honesty and care. Not everyone wants kids, and that is 100% okay. Maverick already has an 18-year-old daughter and doesn’t want any more kids; he and Hendrix are on the same page and she’s not ever shown in a negative light for wanting to remain childfree.
  • Caring for a parent with Alzheimer’s. Hendrix’s mom has Alzheimer’s and can no longer live alone. Although Hendrix’s aunt moves in with her little sister, Hendrix is still very present for her mom. Watching her go through something so difficult is heartrending. It’s difficult and brought tears to my eyes, and I love how it’s presented throughout the novel.
  • Women friendship. As with the first two Skyland books, Hendrix has true sisterhood with Yazmine and Soledad. They support each other through everything and can always rely on one another.

Audiobook:

Wesleigh Siobhan and Jakobi Diem narrate as Hendrix and Maverick. Both capture the accents, inflections, and emotions perfectly. From humor to sadness, the book is amplified in this audiobook format. It makes the novel that much more impactful.

Final Thoughts

Can’t Get Enough is another win in the Skyland series. Like the previous two books, it offers so much emotion, a full and complicated life, and a romance that fits into everything else. The characters feel well-rounded and nuanced, with strong family relationships, friendships, and the romantic relationship. Kennedy Ryan has become one of my favorite authors and I’ll be reading all of her other books.

Rating: 5 out of 5.

Official Summary

“Can’t Get Enough balances brutal emotion, whip-smart humor, and delicious spice. Moving, romantic, and thrumming with life, this is Ryan’s best work yet.” ―Talia Hibbert

Hendrix Barry lives a fabulous life. She has phenomenal friends, a loving family, and a thriving business that places her in the entertainment industry’s rarefied air. Your vision board? She’s probably living it.

She’s a woman with goals, dreams, ambitions—always striving upward. And in the midst of everything, she’s facing her toughest challenge yet: caring for an aging parent. Who has time for romance? From her experience, there’s a low ROI on relationships. Anyway, she hasn’t met the man who can keep up with her. Until…him.

Tech mogul Maverick Bell is a dilemma wrapped in an exquisitely tailored suit and knee-melting charm. From their first charged glance at the summer’s hottest party, Hendrix feels like she’s met her match. Only he can’t be. Mav may be the first to make her feel this seen and desired, but he’s the last one she can have. Forbidden fruit is the juiciest, and this man is off limits if she plans to stay the course she’s set for herself.

But when Maverick gives chase—pursuing her, spoiling her, understanding her—is it time to let herself have something more?
