I don’t know about you, but April flew by for me! I can’t believe it’s already May, but I’m also pretty excited: Not only is it my birthday month, but by the end of May I’ll be fully vaccinated and ready to get back out into the world. I’m so ready to go to restaurants and book stores again. Speaking of book stores, there are tons of incredible books coming out in the next month! I’ve already read (and loved!) Emily Henry’s novel People We Meet on Vacation. Through Book of the Month, I also ordered Things We Lost to the Water by Eric Nguyen, The Girl With Stars in Her Eyes by Xio Axelrod, and Impostor Syndrome by Kathy Wang. Beyond those, some of my most anticipated novels — like Sorrowland, Illusionary, and The Betrayals — are finally coming out. All in all, May 2021 looks like a wonderful month for new books!
For this list of the 45 books I’m most excited for in May, I’ve aimed to include a variety of genres and authors. From poignant historical fiction to action-packed fantasy, from YA romance to nonfiction about serious topics, I hope something here will pique your interest! Here are 45 great new books set for publication in May 2021.
