I don’t know about you, but this summer has been super busy for me. It’s mostly because of how little we did last summer – we all know why – and we’re making up for all we missed out on during lockdown. But despite all that’s been going on in my life, I always make time to whisk myself away in a new story. This August, there are dozens of new books I’m excited to dive into (and maybe one or two I was already lucky enough to read!).
For this list, I’ve aimed to include a variety of genres and authors. From short story collections to coming-of-age stories, from books set in Namibia and South Africa to tales that take place thousands of years ago, I hope something here will pique your interest! Here are 40 great new books set for publication in August 2021.
